eRATication is a project to control rat populations in the Cromwell district

Dealing with Rats!

  • Do Your Research

The secret life of rats … first we need proof they are there.

Predator Free Cromwell has a trail camera that can take video or images, day or night. This is how we know rats are here, where they are going, what they are doing, and which native species they are dining on.

At home, or on the farm, you can make bait boards and tracking tunnels to confirm rats are around, and where they are active. Then you’ll know the most effective bait to put on the menu and the most effective places to get a result.

We have instructions, information and resources to make your own bait boards and tracking tunnels, or you can borrow from the Predator Free Cromwell Trap Library.

Use our Search page to find out all about rats.
