Trap.NZ: Adding Yourself to Predator Free Cromwell Projects

The more data and information you give us, the more we can be strategic about where we trap, what we trap and when it is needed, or not needed. The first step in the process is to join a Cromwell project, so you can add your information.

Trap.NZ is a free service used right throughout NZ for recording trap, bait, monitoring, and biodiversity outcome data. There is no cost to you to use it, or to us as a community organisation - so it’s a great tool.

We’ve got active projects right around the district, and every bit of data helps.

GET STARTED:

Download the trapNZ app from App store or Google Play. Look for the black and red icon of the tūī.

The first time you open the app, you will need to register.

Now, search for a project. Click search, and enter Predator Free Cromwell. Select the project that covers the area where you live, or will be tracking or trapping.

Click ‘request to join project’. We will get a request sent to us and will add you to the project.

Any problems? Contact us - we’re here to help.

Wondering Who Owns Trap.NZ?

Trap.NZ is developed, operated, and provided by Groundtruth, a New Zealand-based software and environmental company.

While Groundtruth built and owns the technical platform, the broader system is overseen by a governance group that includes the Department of Conservation, Predator Free 2050 Ltd, and regional councils.
